Julius Neverauskas:Our Self-Worth Determines Healthy Relationships with Others — and Money Is No Exception

“All of us manage our time, energy, and attention, which are limited resources. Attention is the most important one. In this sense, we are all entrepreneurs,” says neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Julius Neverauskas.

According to him, after the need for safety, the most important thing for a person is self-worth. If it is damaged, people tend to create unhealthy relationships that lead to suffering.

Relationships between people never exist in isolation. They are shaped by deeper historical and genetic factors. At some point in history, all of our ancestors were forced to kill, destroy, or harm others in order to survive. We all carry this past within us. However, our ability to cooperate has become our greatest strength.

For this reason, the neurologist and psychiatrist says that clear rules are necessary in all teams, including families. If there are no rules, then the rule becomes that there are none.

This is discussed in the podcast “Beyond Economics and Back” with neurologist and psychiatrist Dr. Julius Neverauskas and the president of the Lithuanian Free Market Institute (LFMI), Elena Leontjeva.
