The annual logOFF conference, held on February 5, 2026 in Vilnius, was one of the largest emotional well-being and soft skills events in Lithuania. It brought together over 50 speakers and around 1,000 participants to explore topics such as psychology, leadership, inner resilience, and personal growth through talks, discussions, and workshops.
One of the most anticipated talks was delivered by Elena Leontjeva, the president of LFMI and a researcher of scarcity, known for her long-standing work on how limitations shape human behavior and decision-making.
In her presentation, “How to turn lack into a personal strenght and maturity“, Leontjeva explored a powerful idea: that perceived limitations or shortages – whether emotional, material, or experiential – can become a foundation for growth.
Building on her research and personal insights, she emphasized that lack is not merely something to overcome, but something that can reveal direction, sharpen priorities, and deepen meaning. Rather than seeing scarcity as deprivation, she framed it as a formative force that shapes character and identity.
Drawing on her work as a “scarcity researcher,” she invited the audience to rethink lack not as a weakness, but as a catalyst for:
She also highlighted that maturity often emerges not from abundance, but from learning how to live, decide, and act under constraints – a perspective that resonated strongly with both individuals and leaders in the audience.
Her talk aligned closely with the broader theme of logOFF– stepping back, reflecting, and building inner strength in a fast-paced, often overwhelming world.
In a conference dedicated to emotional well-being and human-centered leadership, Leontjeva’s message stood out as both practical and philosophical. It encouraged participants to shift perspective: instead of avoiding or compensating for what is missing, we can consciously transform it into a source of meaning, clarity, and capability.
Her closing insight lingered with many attendees: what we lack does not diminish us – it can define the path to who we become.
