In June 2024, Vilnius hosted the EBIT Leadership Conference, bringing together business leaders, thinkers, and public figures for two days of discussions on leadership, culture, and organizational growth.
One of the standout sessions, “The Role of Hunger in Corporate Life,” explored how “hunger” – understood as ambition, drive, and a sense of lack – can shape both individual performance and organizational culture.
The discussion featured a dynamic panel including Edmundas Jakilaitis, Giedrė Kaminskaitė-Salters, Elena Leontjeva, and Raimondas G. Geleževičius, who reflected on how motivation, pressure, and aspiration influence leadership in practice.
The session emphasized that “hunger” can be a powerful driver of:
At the same time, it raised important questions about limits, balance, and the risks of excess ambition.
The conference combined high-level discussions with a unique open-air atmosphere. Live broadcasts from the LRT studio – set above a lake surrounded by nature – added a distinctive setting to the event.
Among them was a conversation between Elena Leontjeva and Marius Jokūbaitis on the LRT Radio stage, further expanding on the themes of leadership, scarcity, and human motivation.
The program also featured a highly anticipated interview with Dalia Grybauskaitė, highlighting the conference’s broad perspective on leadership across sectors.
By framing “hunger” not as a weakness but as a source of energy and direction, the discussion encouraged leaders to rethink how motivation is understood and cultivated within organizations. The session reflected a broader message of the conference: sustainable leadership requires both ambition and awareness of human limits.
