The National Economics Quiz invites you to test your knowledge of economics—and to be surprised by how many everyday decisions are grounded in economic principles. Each year the initiative attracts thousands of participants. It is organized by the Lithuanian Free Market Institute in partnership with Lithuanian National Radio and Television.
For years, the Lithuanian Free Market Institute together with Lithuanian National Radio and Television organized the National Economics Exam, which drew thousands of young, active people eager to test their knowledge.
Talking with teachers and students, we realized that a single day is not enough to assess knowledge. The pandemic and its consequences also highlighted the need to strengthen financial literacy so that we can maintain economic stability in the face of any crisis. For this reason, we decided to expand the project with a continuously accessible Economics Quiz platform.
The interactive platform contains 190+ questions about economics in everyday life. Each quiz serves up 30 randomly selected questions. At the end, users can review their answers and deepen their knowledge by reading explanations of the correct answers.
The Economics Quiz is organized by the Lithuanian Free Market Institute, the Bank of Lithuania, and Lithuanian National Radio and Television.
We believe this platform will become a frequently used teaching and learning tool for everyone.
Questions vary, but all are approachable for 10th–12th graders.
Some questions explain economic terms; others arise from economic laws observed in everyday situations. All questions are multiple-choice with a single correct answer. After completing the quiz, you can immediately check your answers and read the explanations.
