The project aims to strengthen evidence-based monitoring and advocacy of the legislative process in the field of socio-economic relations in order to improve the transparency of the legislative process and the accountability of public authorities. It is designed to address societal problems related to systemic deficiencies in the legislative process.
High intensity of legislation, frequent changes in laws, adoption of legal acts under the procedure of urgency or special urgency, inadequate assessment of the impact of legal regulation, lack of transparency and publicity of legislation undermine the quality of legal regulation, trust in the state, and involvement of civil society. The target groups of the project are employed, self-employed, socially sensitive groups, consumers and property rights holders, whose socio-economic significance and sensitivity make a transparent and high-quality legislative process crucial to ensure their freedoms and rights.
We will implement nine legislative process monitoring initiatives and prepare nine reports, prepare a scoreboard on the quality of the legislative process, which will provide a convenient and attractive tool to assess the compliance of legislative initiatives with legislative principles and rules, submit proposals for improving the legislative process, and implement advocacy and communication campaigns. We will raise awareness among CSOs and NGOs representing target groups about the state of the legislative processes relevant to them and encourage their more active involvement. The duration of the project is three years.
