Driving Under the Influence of Milk

Ruta Vainiene, LFMI’s President, spoke on the Lithuanian Radio about agricultural policy in the country, building a new dairy processing plant with the EU funds and with a government guarantee. A new plant would not increase milk prices but distort competition between local milk processors and redistribute the market by the hand of the government.  If this changes the structure of milk products made in Lithuania, long- term the consequences will be even more painful.
