The Lithuanian Free Market Institute has examined recommendations on price comparison in advertisements prepared by the Competition Council of Lithuania and formulated its comments and proposals.
In LFMI’s view, the Council’s aim to provide clarity about price comparison in advertisements is to be welcomed. However, it should be noted that the guidelines provided are not clear and do not follow the business practices established. What is more, there is no justification for such recommendations that restrict marketing practices and are very difficult to implement in practice.
