LFMI‘s analytical materialo n a draft law on temporary suspensijon of natural persons‘ obligations creditors

The draft law envisions that under certain circumstances outlined in the law, a natural person facing temporary financial difficulties has a right to suspend his obligations to creditors and not to pay interest for a period of up to 3 years. In LFMI‘s opinion, this draft law would legalise discrimination of creditors‘ rights, would induce a rise in borrowing and service prices, reduce availability of lending, distort people‘s evaluation of risk when taking on commitments. For these reasons we recommend to reject this draft law.
