LFMI’s policy analysis of a draft law on Packaging and Package Waste

A new draft law has been initiated arguing that the results of the existing system are poor, proposing measures to improve the performance of packaging and package waste disposal. LFMI provides arguments and recommends withdrawing the amendments to the Law on Packaging and Package Waste. The proposed amendments, according to LFMI, would monopolise the market and violate the principles of competition, eliminating the possibility for the activities of, and competition among, potential economic agents acting in the market of packaging and package waste disposal. LFMI concludes that the proposed amendments do not lead to better implementation of the goals set in the law.
