LFMI’s Policy Paper on the Draft Law on Packaging and Treatment of Package Waste

The draft law suggest to expand the system of deposit applying it to PET packaging and to obligate shops of certain size to provide collection devices for PET packaging. LFMI offers the analysis why draft law should be rejected – the application of the system of deposit to PET packaging would increase cost to consumers.  In addition the price of collecting packages by container system would go up and consumers would be forced to allocate money for deposit.
