The Lithuanian Free Market Institute (LFMI) ranks 14th among Central and Eastern European think tanks in the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index released by the University of Pennsylvania at the end of January 2020.
LFMI is among top 2% organizations in the world, ranked in the 137th place. In the category of best independent think-tanks LFMI is 57th. The Global Go To Think Tank Index is the most comprehensive ranking of the world’s 8,500 think tanks.
LFMI’s Municipal Performance Index is recognized among Best Policy Study-Reports Produced a Think Tank.

The Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania ranks the world’s leading think tanks in a variety of categories. For this ranking, it relies on the help of a panel of 1,796 peer institutions and experts from the print and electronic media, academia, public and private donor institutions, and governments around the world. Launched in 1989, the Index is aimed to increase the profile and performance of think tanks and raise the public awareness of the important role think tanks play in governments and civil societies around the globe.
