On July 8, Mr. David Hunt, the newly appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Lithuania, visited the Lithuanian Free Market Institute. During the meeting, LFMI’s President Rūta Vainienė presented to Mr. Hunt LFMI’s currently analysed priority areas and major activities and achievements of its 20-year history, also discussing the prospects for cooperation between the UK embassy in Lithuania and LFMI. The UK ambassador and Ms Vainienė also spoke about Lithuania‘s most pressing economic and social policy issues.
Mr. Hunt took up his appointment on June27. He joined the FCO in 2001 from the private sector and was most recently Deputy Head of Conflict Department at the FCO in London. He has previously worked in a range of FCO positions, focussing on security policy as well as bilateral relations.
